I noticed on Nascar.com this AM that they have a new poll up.  It asks if the new championship is 'legit', or if the new format made it easier.  So far, easier is winning.  Guess how I voted?

Hope everyone had a great holiday, and didn't get caught in the travel mess that hit in the midwest.  I am slowly recuperating from the overeating I did on Christmas, and am considering eating for the first time in 2 days.

BTW, has anyone disscovered a way to get to news at Nascar.com WITHOUT getting shunted to their 'store' first?

Sally, I'm afraid not.  The pages load slowly because of the links to the superstore.  Also, unless you have a pop-up blocker, you have to view ads for Nextel phones about every few pages.  You know, the new "industry standard" you now have to pay extra for?

Cheryl, thanks for the great opportunity you have provided for me.  Once you see the number of posts, you will be so proud of me!

I very seldom go to Nascar.com  as I can find everything and more on Jayski.  I will have to check out the poll but even if we vote, Brian will do exactly what he wants and we will have the playoff program again.

Same here.  I never go to Nascar.com.  Will check out the poll though.

Just for the heck of it, I went to Nascar.com and it let me in right away and I was at the Nascar Cup page which is where I always had it set.  I saw a link to the store, but it did not take me there.  Just to the Cup page and it loaded fast for my dial up connection.  I will check it again later and see what happens.  I know my saved address for them is just www.nascar.com  so don't know why you are getting the store first.   :?

Just rechecked it again and it did take me to the Cup news page.  I copied the addy and will paste it here for you to check and try as a link.

Let me know if it works.

Vivian, I use the nascar.com all the time.  Your link took me too the SUPERSTORE location.  Maybe, after all the nasty mail I've sent them, they have secretly sabotaged my computer to go to the store first!  Wouldn't put it past them at all.

Sally, that is so strange.  I just clicked the link and it took me straight to the home page which is the cup news.  What happens if you click on the home link?  Will it then save it for you?  I am so confused.

Can everyone else try it and see what you get?Huh?  I would be interested in knowing.

Just tried both links again from my two posts and both take me straight to the home page.  Something is wrong somewhere....I really don't think they sabotaged you....

When I clicked the link it took me to a pornographic website.

Oh, nevermind, my bad. It WAS the NASCAR.com site.

It did crash my browser when I tried to leave the page however. Honest. No joke or pun intended.

It's official - Cheryl and I are to blame for the killing of at least 17 mature trees, whose lives were given in the making of kleenex....

I just tried it again, and ended up at the store.  Again.  I really think they did this to me because of all my e mail!  After all, Staci and I did manage to get blocked from Fox when we complained too much about them showing repeated replays of Earnhardt's crash at Daytona.  HEY!  At least that means someone there noticed, right?

Sally,

What do you mean, blocked from Fox?  Does that mean that the server was down when you tried to visit it, or did you get some kind of other message?

In a related note, I tried to visit this web site (from a Jayski link), but all I got was something called a "502 gateway error," for which, unfortunately, I didn't receive an English translation.  And I couldn't e-mail the webmaster in an effort to fix the problem!

http://www.bobbyisaacmotorsports.com

I've gotten these errors for the last two days.

By blocked, I mean that, when we tried to send an e mail, we were informed Fox was no longer accepting mail from Staci's address.  Blocked.  Like you do with junk mail.  And no, we didn't use any words the FCC would object to.
