Noooooo!!! Another publication bites the dust.

 This is just horrible and I'm not kidding. The 2010 NASCAR Preview and Press Guide from UMI Publications is NOT being published this year. I looked forward to this magazine coming out the last week of January EVERY year. It was like Christmas and Birthday in one. I'm dead serious about this. I looked forward to buying this every year since 1992 and sought out the back issues to 1986's #1. I know there's a lot worse in this world but I'm at a loss. No other racing publication came close to this one. Having these on hand is a lot better than firing up the computer if I needed to know something about a past race. I hope they come back in 2011 but it won't be the same with a hole in the lineup.

Wow!  I hadn't heard about this Brian!.  Like you, I used to eagerly await when the guide came out (back in the 90s).  I still refer to the old cones often for statistics too.  But after one year when they had half the truck stats wrong and seemed to barely go through the motions of covering that series, I stopped buying them (around 2002, I think).  But I still have all the old ones from 1989-2002 in my "library" and recently used them to check pole speeds from old Daytona races.  When I heard they were increasing the hole size in the restrictorplates, I wanted to see what the highest pole speeds were at Daytona in past years and looked at my Press Guides for them.
