As many of you already know, Nationwide Series crew chief Bryan Berry has been suspended for directing a racial slur against African-American driver Marc Davis last Saturday night.

While NASCAR is at it, why not at least investigate Brendan Gaughan's comments?  In a live TV interview after the wreck at Nashville that started it all, Gaughan said something like, "My Georgetown education is superior to his Howard education."  Howard University is a HBCU (historically black college or university) which has a long history and, from what I understand, a reputation for being academically tough.  Not an Ivy League school, but not as bad as Gaughan thinks, either.

Fair enough, Ken.  But it sounded like a veiled threat to me.

By the way, Brendan Gaughan finished fourth last Saturday night at Kentucky.  Way to go, Brendan - and Shane Huffman! Smiley

I feel certain that Gaughan was kidding, but how would I know? I didn't go to Georgetown, I just went to a state supported university!!

Actually, a good friend of mine DID go to Georgetown, and has done quite well. I don't think that he really is brighter than I however, but certainly is just as bright.

Remember that line from the great musical OKLAHOMA? Hell, does anyone remember OKLAHOMA?

Anyhow, the line comes during the song about the cowboy and farmer should be friends. It goeslike this:

" I ain't sayin' I'm any better than someone else, but I'll be damned if I ain't just as good!"
