The top 35 in owners' points is finally settled for purposes of qualifying for the Daytona 500 and the four races after that.

NASCAR denied Phoenix Racing (which fields the #09 team) permission to "buy" the #41 team's 2008 points.  That means Brad Keselowski will have to earn his way into the "Great American Race."  The points slot was left vacant, meaning that the 36th place #47 team and driver Marcos Ambrose is indeed in the Daytona 500.

Meanwhile, the #01 points have indeed been "sold" to the #33 (Clint Bowyer) and the #15 points have been "sold" to Front Row Motorsports #34 and driver John Andretti.  (To add to the confusion, there is a new #41 team, owned and driven by Jeremy Mayfield.)
