Mike Wallace wanted to race with his daughter later this year in the insurance company sponsored series. GEICO would have been the sponsor but NASCAR told Wallace "we're not going to let it happen. You can't have a second car." If another sponsor is found then Wallace will resurrect his plan.

I tuned in to watch a Nationwide race and all I got was Danica.

Wow, this means trouble in a lot of ways.  Nascar's sponsors are definitely gonna hurt a lot of the teams

Nascar is putting it's 'golden geese' in real jeopardy.  Since they have so many 'official sponsors' these days, they are literally taking funding from individual teams to line corporate pockets.  Guess it hasn't occurred to them that if you block enough avenues of revenue for the teams, they will be left with lots of shiny new cookie cutter tracks with lots of fan amenities, but no cars on the track for lack of sponsorship.  Short sighted as usual.

Sally, don't forget that the teams are also competing with the TV networks for money.  Some sponsors won't commit to teams unless they can buy packages that enables them for placement on TV as well (e.g. Claritin, DLP HDTV).
