Wow!! I've been hard on ESPN's qualifying coverage but todays Speed coverage sets a new low. The most common phrases heard were "while we were gone drive y ran a lap of xxx" or "while we were talking to one of the chosen drivers, driver z ran a lap of xxx" The Fox/Speed guys (Hammond and Larry Mac) were in the booth clowning around and focusing on everything but on track action. The director could not figure out how to pick a camera that was showing a car on the track, if any cameras were actually following the action on the track. The worst. What a waste of my time.

I will have to amend this. I forgot I taped qualifying. The part I posted about above was seen live and was horrible. The first part of Busch qual that I saw today on tape was okay but something went wrong after 1/4 of the broadcast.

I agree.  A lot of cars were missed on Saturday.  Oddly, that did not happen the day before when SPEED covered NEXTEL Cup qualifying.  They showed at least the end of all the drivers' runs.
