Wow! What a complete surprise! Right out of the blue! Kevin Harvick has replace Kertus Davis with Ron Hornaday at Milwaukee. I'm shocked!!!
Being serious now, who could not see this one. I knew something like this would happen when the announcement was made last year the Kertus would be in the #77 part time. Harvick has no patience with rookie drivers. Another Busch guy kicked to the curb. I guess not everyone can  have out of box success like Kevin. I will be shocked if Kertus returns for more than two races in 2007. Kertus is scheduled for Montreal but I'll place a few bucks on the fact it won't be him in the car. Maybe Kertus can find a  rich supermodel and hang out with Burney Lamar shopping at Family Dollar Wink

Yeah, like he did in the truck series?   laugh  He didn't win there until he'd already been in Winston Cup for 2-3 years I believe.

This stinks for Kertus, but I'm not surprised, seeing how KHI treated Lamar.

It's easy to edit a webpage to change things. I'd be curious to know if Kertus was ever really slated to do the Milwaukee race. Kertus is still listed in more races for the rest of the year in the #77 car so who know if Hornaday was supposed to be in it this weekend all along since he was also there to run a truck on Friday

Edited a little while later :

I saw this on Kertus' website - http://www.kertusdavis.com/2007/index.php?page_id=8 - so apparently he was supposed to drive Milwaukee.

First, not that either Lou or Cheryl misunderstood me, I better make it clear that Kertus has NOT been removed for the rest of 2007, that is just my gut feeling.
I believe that when the original announcement was made for the #77 cars 2007 schedule the ride was to be split beween Bobby Labonte and Kertus Davis with Kevin in the car for the Dollar General sponsored  fall Charlotte race. After Kevin drove some races this year in the #77 I tried to find the orignal announcement but gave up. I'm very sure though that Kertus was in for 13-15 races, Kevin one race and Bobby the remainder.
In defense of Kevin, Kertus really has not had the season he should in that car, although some wrecks were not his fault. But still, how can a driver improve while running a partial schedule?

 Found the original announcement,
 Labonte 18 races
 Davis 13 races
 Harvick 1
Which leaves 3 unfilled that Kevin, already drove this year.

I saw the original announcement you are referring to, Brian, with him supposely in the car a little less than half the time.  Unfortunately as the season has progressed, it was clear he wasn't even going to get that.  I think he's only been in the car 2-3 times and not the first time until recently.

Sure any young driver would take the opportunity for some races over none, but you could tell right away that he wasn't going to be given a fair chance.  He's pretty much been working as Bobby's spotter for most of the races.

Hmmm. Does not look good for Kertus. A blurb on Jayski quotes Davis "Right now ,it's best for me not to say nothing at all. I'm just going to leave it at that."

Good news for the Johhny Benson fans. He will be in the #1 car at Milwaukee while Yelay is at Sears Point.

But one can only imagine that he is very bitter inside.  I still remember when Burney Lamar was pulled from the Loudon race in July 2006 in favor of Jeff Burton.  Within a few months, he was gone.  Is the same thing happening to Davis?
