I neglected to mention how wonderful it was to have Allen Bestwick work the infield desk for the ESPN the other night at Darlington.  Of course, I'm still not sure why we need "hosts" for the broadcasts anyway.  But ESPN must copy Fox it seems.  But I guess Allen was just too competent and professional and showed up the ESPN talking heads, so now they're going back to people who don't know racing.  I know this is similar to Brenden's post, but I really like Jon Daly's take on things in this article:

You know what Cheryl? I would suggest Alan Bestwick as the subject for your next interview, as to how he got into racing, etc. I thought that he was very good on IWC in the old days. I'd like to know what got him into the racing media mess.

Trust me, Dick, I'd love to interview Allen, but really don't have any way to contact him to request an interview.

I may have to work on that. I can be quite brazen and forward if I want to be. There must be some way to reach him.

Try ESPN Audience Services.  Go to the homepage http://espn.go.com, and look for a link with the words "Feedback," "Contact ESPN," or similar wording.  If they can't help you directly, they should tell you exactly who can help you.

Yeah, that'll get me right to him, I'm sure.  More likely just an automated response.
