for ESPN.  Just heard a telephonic interview with him on XM.

He was NOT one of the better broadcasters based on the truck broadcasts he used to do for ESPN.

 Sad

I have also heard that Allen Bestwick will anchor the Milwaukee Busch Series race in June. Interestingly, Allen is taking this weekend off and Shannon Spake is taking his place on pit road, this will be the first ever there have been two female reporters involved in 1 NASCAR event.

Well she's been a NASCAR field reporter for Speed Channel the past two seasons and this year she moved to ESPN where she's worked for NASCAR Now, Sportscentre and ESPN Countdown. I haven't personally paid attention to her so I have no idea how competent she is.

I have however taken a slight liking to Jamie Little, she's not bad.

So why is Allen Bestwick not working this weekend?  His hockey team reached the playoffs? Huh?

No, seriously.  Bestwick plays in a recreational hockey league in Rhode Island.  Three years ago, he was injured in a game and missed two NASCAR races as a result.

Marty Reid and Vicne Welch are "on loan" from the IRL Series for this weekends stand alone Busch Event at Nashville. I have been watching Marty since NHRA, and IRL, and I think hr does a great job. He has improved. He is a veteran of motorsports. Give him a chance before you bash.

I agree Marty does a great job, wish he was still doing the NHRA races

Can't comment on Marty too much; I don't watch IRL and never saw him call the drag races.

By the way, what is Vince Welch's role this coming weekend?

Okay, maybe I'm just dense, but who the heck IS Vince Welsh.  Sounds like a football guy to me.   Shocked  Certainly isn't someone with any background in stock car racing that I've ever heard of in my 20 years of following the sport.
