I got here yesterday morning and spent much of the city just getting the lay of the land in the vast Strip area.

As always, a lot has changed in a short period of time.  The biggest change I have seen so far in the City Center development.  It is an enormous undertaking that will consist of two hotels, a casino, a condo, and 500,000 square feet of shopping.  (Maybe Gillian Zucker can be put in charge of the mall if California Speedway doesn't work out.) laugh  The total cost is $3 billion and the opening date is 2009.

I also saw the live Treasure Island and Bellagio shows.  The TI show has changed from the original design in which a pirate ship sunk a British merchant vessel.  Now the idea is that a group of cheerleader types engage in a half-hearted fight against some pirates; the pirates lose and are eventually seduced onto the ladies' ship.  The Bellagio shows feature dancing water fountains and are pretty cool.  If you're coming for the race on March 11 at LVMS, definitely try to see the Bellagio show and avoid the TI show.

I will try to file another report Sunday, certainly no later than Monday when I come back.
