Hmmmmm...hadn't heard about this one before.  I guess this is why ISC bought Pikes Peak and closed it down.  They wanted to make sure their new track was the only game in town.   Roll Eyes  If they can't get NY and Seattle, they're going for Denver next.  Ugh...

"NASCAR's sister company, ISC, set sights on Denver area
By DAVID POOLE / The Charlotte Observer
International Speedway announced Tuesday it is exploring a partnership to develop a motorsports facility in Adams County, Colo., near the Denver International Airport.

ISC is looking a land parcels in the cities of Aurora and Commerce City and will work with public entities to explore the feasibility of a track that would seat about 75,000.

ISC, which owns Daytona International Speedway along with several other tracks, recently halted its efforts to build a track on a Staten Island site that would have served New York City, but said it is exploring other options in that area."

I remember that Roger Penske tried to build a track in the same area that ISC is now targeting.
