It is a vicious cycle that happens all the time here in America. I have seen it in CA and now it is happening in our area. Sad, sad....
Those comments moved me more than anything else that I have ever read on this forum. The only thing I can conclude is that the lure of the retail stores is too big for them, so they want them to be more convenient to them, even if their own way of life has to be altered. Also, the towns can get more sales-tax revenues.
After seeing my ancestors' home in Louisiana this past September, I have a better appreciation for the country than ever before, and if I had the resources, I would do all I can to preserve it.
