Just saw this on Jayski:

"UPDATE: Ricky Rudd will join Robert Yates Racing, driving the #28 Mars Company [was #88] sponsored Ford, replacing Dale Jarrett [who drove the #88 UPS Ford, now going to MWR in the #44 UPS Toyota]. Butch Hylton will continue in his role as the Yates #28/88 team's crew chief.(Sporting News)(12-10-2006)"

IF this is true, how awesome!  One of my all-time favorites returning to Cup full-time!   Grin Grin Grin  Where's that emoticon for jumping up and down and clapping when you need it???

Here's the article from the Sporting News that Jayksi cites as his source!  Sounds pretty legitate to me!

Good luck, Ricky! Smiley

I hope that the year off will not hurt him too much.  It will be great to see the #28 again; people had forgotten about that in the hubbub over #3.

I'm wondering, though: Two drivers in a go-kart race?  The changeover had to be interesting, as in a sports car race like LeMans or Daytona.

;DYEAH!!! Score one for the older guys. Go Ricky! Finally, some good news.
Anybody wanna wager where RR/RYR 28 team will end up vs the DJ/Mikey team?
Darn, this may give me an interesr in cup again.
Now, where is Ward when we need him?

I wish that Ward had a bit better ride, but maybe he can make it work. Wouldn't it be a hoot if Ward, Ricky and Bobby Labonte each won at least one race in 07?
And what about Ricky Craven? I liked him too.

Welcome back, everybody! Smiley  You're never too old to be a NASCAR driver, unlike some other sports I can name.

As an aside, there's something these younger drivers can learn from the veterans if they are willing to listen.  This, of course, is not bashing any of them in particular.  However, we are all aware of the incidents over the past few years and who have been involved in most of them.

Lets see...Ricky Rudd's back on a limited basis, Waaaards back full time if he can qualify, Awesome Bill will race a limited schedule...ummmmhhhh.  I can't believe Baby Barnum is gonna let that happen.  Maybe the ride through the condo parking lot brought back some semblance of sanity.  It'll be great to see some of the older drivers running...makes me think of Harry Gant.

I saw Handsome Harry on one of those Kyle Petty charity ride segments on Speed the other night. He was pretty cool.
BTW--"Baby Barnum" is a good one! Grin
