Some great comments about the TV coverage buried in this long article by Bob Margolis about the race";_ylt=AvBvPUStCa9S63D5mzWFNxfov7YF?slug=bm-observations_brickyard080606&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

I particularly like his use of pathetic to describe missing so much action because of all those mid-race commercials.

Bob is right.  Did we have to see JJ all alone for so long?  Did we have to hear about the plane crash at Bull Mountain--again?  Oh, and that darn last-lap crash ruined our script!

This is generally a solid production crew, but it disappointed toward the end of the race.

P.S. Sam Flood is leaving NASCAR to help in the NFL coverage, starting next Sunday night.  We'll see how that changes what we see, or maybe don't see.
