from BGNracing.com:

"Robert Yates Racing announced today that David Gilliland has been signed to a one-race deal to pilot the No. 90 CitiFinancial Ford on August 5th at O’Reilly Raceway Park. Gilliland, 30, has nine NASCAR Busch Series starts, including a victory at Kentucky Speedway earlier this season. Robert Yates Racing selected Gilliland to substitute for driver Stephen Leicht as he will be attempting to qualify the No. 90 CitiFinancial Ford for the Allstate 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Leicht, 19, could become the youngest driver to qualify for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series event at the famed Brickyard on August 6th. (RYR PR) NOTE: Rumors began in Martinsville that Gilliland may take over one of the RYR Cup rides in 2007 as well. AND: Matt McCall, Yates' other development driver, remains under contract with the team. Co-owner Doug Yates said the team would evaluate McCall's status at the end of the season. (Scene Daily) (07-28-06)"
