According to Dustin Long of the Roanoke Times, Fox could soon announce changes in NASCAR coverage effective with the new contract in 2007.  One possibility is a channel showing multiple in-car cameras.

As a DIRECTV subscriber, I am familiar with the concept; it is called "mix channels" and there are currently three of them.  They show groups of news, sports, and children's networks.  Another is an option that can be added to NFL Sunday Ticket.

Fox purchased DIRECTV last year and the satellite service became an official sponsor of NASCAR.

DirecTV had something like this on a pay-per-view basis once several years ago.  Maybe 1997 or 98.  Lou and opted for it and had a group of friends over to watch the fall Charlotte race.  We had one TV on the main channel and then a smaller one on the in-car views.  It was pretty disappointing if you ask me.  Since you had no choice whose in-car was being shown and there was no sound associated with it.  But then today's viewers seem to love this mix and "interactive" stuff.  Otherwise, they wouldn't be paying for all that crap on NOL.
