It is now official, Toyota is in Nextel Cup racing as of 2007.

The next question: Who will drive those Toyotas?

A good guess is Michael Waltrip, although Bill Davis has sold the #55 team in exchange for five free starts for Mikey to start the season.  He and Davis already are connected to Toyota through the Craftsman Truck Series.

Next will probably be Penske Racing South and Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates.  Both owners fielded IndyCars with Toyota engines before that program shut down to make room for the NASCAR push.

After that, it will, like it or not, depend on money.  Which owners will accept lucrative offers from Toyota?  I predict that we will see drivers and owners we never thought we would associate with any other carmaker make the jump.
