Thank you, Allison!  A great tribute from a fellow Californian.

Stock-car racing may be everywhere, but the Southeast is where the "real stuff" is.  As I have written earlier, a dream of mine is to go to Darlington or Talladega.  Darlington for the race, Talladega for the party before the race.

Actually the real racing in NASCAR is usually found in the south.  There really is good stock car racing all over the country, just not in the most publicized series...

I did read the article and I think it was a good one.  I took it to mean she was referring to Nascar rather than all stock car racing.  

Like Cheryl said, there is good stock car racing all over the country.  It is just different series that are not well known.

I concede the point.  It's akin to finding dinner theater all over the country and the world, but knowing that the biggest stars are in Hollywood.
