Yesterday, I was out of the house again and had to convince a bar owner to tune to FX so I could watch the end of the Chevy American Revolution 400.
While there, I met a man named John, who wore a tie-dyed shirt, as well as his wife, Robin.
John told me that he had attended races at the California Speedway and suggested that I go there soon. His favorite drivers are Cale Yarborough and Jeff Gordon.
When I asked John why he did not ask the bar owner to change the channel earlier, he said that he and Robin had just arrived themselves. They had come from a movie called
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. John called it "very funny."
And with that, I didn't feel alone anymore.
