After a bad week last week, Vicki comes back with a vengence this week to get the win and 5th in the entire universe!  Fabulous job, Vicki!!!!  Keith was distant 2nd in our group, 46 points back and 92nd in the nation.  Cheryl was 51 points back in 3rd and 105th in the nation.  Apparently, our former leader, Desmond, got caught up in a big wreck and dropped down to 2nd YTD, now 48 points behind Vicki.  Cheryl remains in 3rd, 94 points out of the lead.  Bill remains in 4th, gaining a few points and is now 168 back.  Keith also gained a few points on his wife, and is now 176 back in 5th.  Lou's quest to get back to the top ends this week, as he loses 10 more points to the leader, and is now 280 out.  Clay's downhill spiral continues, as his 8th place finish coupled with Diane's strong 4th place this week, drops his to 8th overall, now 430 points back.  Diane moves up to 7th, 417 back.  Thanks to everyone for playing!  Next up,  the ultimate crapshoot for fantasy league teams:  Talladega!!!

Woo-hoo!  Desmond got his second win in a row at Charlotte!  And 2nd in the entire universe!  Fantastic job, Desmond!  Lou was all ready to gloat over his victory, but will have to settle for 2nd in our group, 30 points behind Desmond.  But he was 16th in the nation, so that IS a vast improvement over how he has been running during the 2nd Half.  Keith rounds out the top 3, 49 points back and 48th in the nation.  Due to his back-to-back victories, coupled with bad finishes by both Vicki and Cheryl, Desmond jumps past them both to take over the YTD lead!  Awesome job!  Vicki drops to 2nd and is now 64 points out.  Cheryl drops to 3rd, 107 points back.  The rest of the rankings remain the same, with Bill 174 back, Keith, 194 back, Lou 270 back and Clay dropping even further back in 7th, now 391 points back.  Richie and Diane remain in 8th and 9th place.  Thanks to everyone for playing.  It was a rough week and things don't look to get much better as we travel to another 1 1/2 mile track next week, the oh-so-boring Kansas.

Desmond didn't quite lap the field, but he brought home the win in our group and impressive 17th in the entire nation!  Awesome job, Desmond!  Keith was 2nd in our group, 10 points back and 43rd in the nation.  Lou was 3rd, 15 points back and 60th in the nation.  The "Girl Power" of Vicki and Cheryl faltered just a bit this week, with Vicki finishing 5th and Cheryl WAY back in 8th.  Perhaps visiting those two wineries on race day had some impact on them.  But Vicki managed to maintain her commanding 2nd Half lead!  Desmond's win allowed him to move up into a dead heat with Cheryl for 2nd YTD.  They are still 45 points behind Vicki though.  Bill and Keith maintained their 4th and 5th spots respectively.  But Lou's strong finish this week, coupled with more late season faltering by Clay allowed Lou to leapfrog over Clay into 6th spot YTD.  Hopefully NASCAR won't draw the hurricane to Charlotte this weekend and we can get the race in Saturday night.  Thanks to everyone for playing!

Well we had a much more exciting race among our group than at the actual track.  Bill got the win and 51st in the nation!  Awesome job, Bill!!!  Vicki was just 3 points behind in 2nd and 67th in the nation.  Desmond was 3rd, 14 points back and 123rd in the nation. Cheryl and Keith were in a dead heat for 4th this week and Lou was just one point behind thme in 6th.   Great job to us all!  After leading early, Clay seems to be in a downhil spiral lately, finishing dead last this week.  Vicki retains the YTD lead and actually lengthens it a bit over Cheryl, who remains in 2nd, now 23 points back.  Desmond remains in 3rd, now 92 points back.  Bill remains in 4th, 155 points back.  Keith and Clay exchanged positions.  Keith is now in 5th, 227 behind his wife.  Clay drops to 7th and is now 268 out of the lead.  As always, thanks to everyone for playing!

Desmond held on for the win this week at Chicago and 48th in the entire nation!  Great job, Desmond!  Vicki was right on his bumper in 2nd, just 2 points back and finishing 58th in the nation.  Lou was close behind in 3rd, 4 points back and 70th in the nation. Good job to all of you!  While the standings remain pretty much unchanged, Vicki lengthens her lead over Cheryl in 2nd, now by 11 points.  Despite his win, Desmond remains in 3rd, but closes on the lead a tiny bit.  He is now only 81 points behind Vicki.  Bill remains in 4th, 158 back.  Clay in 5th is now 195 out of the lead.  Keith remains in 6th and is now 215 behind his wife.  Thanks to everyone for playing!  On to another really boring track next week - New Hamp-bore.

Somehow Cheryl managed to save her tires to the end and avoid all the wrecks to get the win in our group and 12th in the nation!  Desmond finished 2nd, 25 points back and 67th in the nation.  In 3rd this week, we had an epic battle between sisters, Vicki and Diane, which ended in a tie!  No sibling rivalry there!  Guess niether wanted to hurt the other's feeling by winning.  They placed 94th in the nation and 31 points out of the lead.  Lou even got out of his slump and finished 5th this week!  Good job to us all!  Vicki retains the 2nd Half YTD lead, but with Cheryl's win, she closes the gap between them to only 4 points!  Desmond remains in 3rd, but is now only 83 points back.  Bill is still in 4th, but drops to 123 back.  Former leader, Clay, remains in 5th, but is now 143 points behind Vicki.  And Vicki's "other half" remains 6th, but drops even further behind his wife, now 200 points out of the lead.  Thanks to everyone for playing!  On to Chicago, one of the most boring tracks on the circuit next week.

Well the girls seem to be duking it out lately.  This week, Vicki came out on top, edging Cheryl at the line for the win and 75th in the nation!  Cheryl was just 2 points back, but finished 88th in the nation.  Desmond was a close 3rd, 4 points back and 97th in the nation.  Good job to all of us!  Richie and Diane had a photo finish for 7th this week.  Unfortunately, Lou had another DNF, finishing last in our group.  Vicki retains the 2nd Half YTD lead and is now 35 points ahead of Cheryl in 2nd.  Desmond's strong finish moves him up to 3rd YTD and he is now 89 points behind Vicki.  Bill remains in 4th, 100 points back.  Unfortunately, Clay dropped from 3rd to 5th this week and is now 101 points out.  Keith remains in 6th, but dropped to 137 points behind his wife.  Thanks to everyone for playing!  Next up, Richmond!

Cheryl inched past Vicki at the line to get the win this week by only ONE point.  She finished 47th in the nation, with Vicki finishing 51st, and Desmond 7 points back for 3rd in our group and 77th in the nation.  Good job to all of us!  With her win coupled with bad finishes by Clay and Bill this week, Cheryl moves up to 2nd YTD.  Vicki still has the lead though, 33 ahead of Cheryl.  Clay drops to 3rd YTD and is now 46 points behind Vicki.  With his strong 4th place finish this week, Lou FINALLY moves out of the basement, but is still 8th overall YTD.  Thanks to everyone for playing.  Next up, one of NASCAR's crown jewels, the Southern 500!

Well Desmond survived the carnage at Bristol to bring home the victory in our group and 94th in the nation!  Awesome job, Des!  Vicki was just 9 points behind in 2nd, and Bill 20 back in 3rd in our group.  Keith and Richie had a photo finish back in 7th this week.  With her strong 2nd place finish, Vicki moves into the 2nd Half YTD Lead!  Way to go, Vicki!  Clay drops to 2nd, but is only 5 points behind.  Bill's strong finish moves him up to 3rd YTD and is only 25 behind Vicki.  Cheryl drops to 4th YTD.  Keith remains in 5th and Desmond in 6th (although he closed up a lot in points on the leader).  Lou had a decent finish this week, but it was still not enough to move him out of the cellar in the 2nd Half.  But he has moved to within a single point of Diane who remains 10th YTD.  As always, thanks to everyone for playing!  Next up, the high speeds of Michigan!

Those darn Fuquays… Keith pulls out of his 2nd half slump to grab his first win, followed closely by Vicki! Clay is still holding his own quite well and comes home 3rd this week. Cheryl and Lou round out the top 5. Bill spun out on the bus stop and never recovered. Bill's bad day and Clay's good one allowed the Funk Express to retake the overall lead! Vicki also moved up 2 spots from 4th to 2nd overall. Lead changes are good for the sport! Take a week of to enjoy the Olympics, we'll see you all wrecking agin at Bristol! Thanks for playing.
