Well the Funk Express has become a bullet train, winning the 2nd week in a row, this week with 274 points.  Congratulations Clay!   Vicki was 2nd, 34 points back, Desmond was 3rd, 49 points back, and Keith was 4th, 51 points back.  Cheryl seems to have been derailed, finishing last, 104 points back.  While Keith retains the 2nd Half YTD lead, Vicki has now closed to within 42 points in 2nd.  Clay's win allowed him to jump up to 3rd, now 127 points back.  Bill falls to 4th, 153 points back.  The rest of us are also-rans.  So it's down to just ONE race in the season!  Can Vicki catch Keith?  Can Clay keep his winning streak going and possibly overtake Vicki for 2nd.  Stay tuned!  Our fantasy will probably have more drama that the actual NASCAR Championship next week at Homestead.  As always, thanks to everyone for playing!

Looks like the Funk Express is on the "groove line" again, earning 263 points and the win this week.  Awesome job, Clay!  Vicki was just 5 points behind in 2nd.  Cheryl was 3rd, 14 points back.  Our leader, Keith, stumbled a bit, finishing 5th and 37 points back, but he maintains the lead over Vicki, but now by only 59 points.  Bill's strong finish keeps him in 3rd, 135 points back, and Clay stays in 4th, now 178 points back.  Thanks for everyone for playing!  Only two weeks left, can anyone catch Keith?  Next up Phoenix.

Just like Talladega, it seems surviving the carnage at Martinsville last week was the key and Bill came out on top getting the win with 267 points.  Awesome job, Bill!  Keith was just a little behind in 2nd, 9 points back.  Vicki was 3rd, 33 back and Clay ended up 4th, only 34 behind Bill.  The rest of us seemed to have been swept up in that last lap crash (or maybe the early crashes.).  Keith's strong finish allows him to keep the 2nd half YTD lead, with Vicki still in 2nd, 91 points back.  Bill is 3rd, 147 back and Clay is 4th, 215 back.  The rest of us are also-rans.  Sorry the points were so late this week.  I'll try to do better next week for Texas.  Thanks for playing!

Well Kansas was nearly as rough as Talladega, but somehow Clay managed to survive and get the win this week, with a score of 218 points.  Vicki was 2nd, just 6 points back, and Bill was 3rd, just 10 points back.  With a 5th place finish, Keith keeps the 2nd Half YTD lead, but Vicki's strong 2nd allows her to close up a bit.  She's still 2nd, but is now 67 points back.  Bill's strong finish allowed him to close as bit as well.  He's still 3rd, but is now 156 points back.  Thanks to everyone for playing!  Next up, everyone's favorte short track at Martinsville!!!

Well somehow Keith survived the carnage to get the win this week with a a score of 238 points.  Bill was 15 points behind in 2nd and Vicki was 58 back in 3rd.  Keith lengthens his 2nd Half YTD lead over Vicki to 77 points.  Bill's strong finish moved him up to 3rd YTD, 162 points back.  Clay drops to 4th, now 206 behind Keith.  Everyone else stays the same in the standings.  Thanks to everyone for playing!  Next up, another boring 1 1/2 mile track - this time Kansas I think.

Desmond comes back with a vengeance!  Getting his 2nd win in a row this week!  Fantastic job, Desmond!  Bill was a very close 2nd, just 2 points back.  Cheryl was 3rd, 14 points back.  Clay was just one point behind her in 4th, 15 points out of the lead.  Lou had a solid week, finishing 5th, 40 points back; Keith was 6th, 52 back; Vicki had an uncharacteristic stumble, fishing 7th, 59 points back.  The YTD standing remain unchanged, with Keith retaining the 2nd Half YTD lead.  Vicki remains in 2nd, 19 points back; Clay is in 3rd, 110 back; Bill is 4th, 147 back; Cheryl is 5th, 200 back; Lou is 6th, 328 back; Desmond is 7th, 514 back.  Thanks to everyone for playing!  Up next is the crapshoot of Talladega!

Well Desmond definitely picked a good week to rejoin the Fantasy League!  He won this week with a score of 233 points.  Great job, Desmond and welcome back!!!  Clay was 2nd, just 5 points back and Vicki was 3rd, just 6 points back.  Actually entire group was pretty close with Bill in 4th, 10 points back; Keith in 5th, 14 points back; Cheryl 6th, 22 points back; and Lou bringing up the rear in 7th, 25 points back.  Diane has not rejoined us, so she had another DNF this week.  Keith retains the 2nd Half YTD, with everyone else staying in the same positions.  Vicki is 2nd, 12 back; Clay in 3rd, 147 back; Bill is 4th, 197 back; Cheryl is 5th, 238 back; Lou is 6th, 340 back; and Desmond is 7th, 566 points back.  Diane remains in 8th.  Thanks to everyone for playing!  Next up, Charlotte!

Well we certainly had a tighter race in our league than the actual race at New Hampshire.  But Clay edged out Vicki and got the win with 288 points.  Vicki was just 3 points back in 2nd.  Cheryl was a bit further back in 3rd, 21 points behind.  Keith was 4th, 39 points back and Bill was 5th, 76 points back.  Lou keeps his string going!  With bad finishes, this week in 6th, 86 points back.  It seems we've definitely lost Diane and Desmond and it's a shame since they were both doing well.  Keith's strong finish keeps him in the 2nd Half YTD lead, with Vicki just 20 points back in 2nd.  With Diane not playing again this week coupled with Clay's big win, Clay takes over 3rd spot YTD.  Bill is 4th, Cheryl 5th and Lou is 6th.  Thanks to everyone for sticking with us!  Next up, one of my favorite tracks on the circuit:  Dover Downs!  I'm pretty certain we'll see more competitve racing than we have the last two weeks.

First off, I want to thank you all again for your patience over the last two weeks.  And a special thanks to Bill, Vicki, Keithy and Clay for sticking with us for the rest of the season.  It looks like we have the truly dedicated players only sticking with us. Vicki was able to pull out from a tight battle this week to get the win with 240 points.  Clay was just tick behind with 233 points and Keith finished in 3rd with 231 points.  Even though Cheryl and Lou did not have the same drivers, somehow they tied for 4th with 217 points.  Bill was 6th with 213 points.  Unfortunately, Diane and Desmond were not able to get their teams in before this race.  Hopefully, they will join us in the future.  Until then, Keith was able to take over the 2nd Half YTD lead and Vicki moved up to 2nd, just 56 points behind.  Diane drops to 3rd, now 158 back and Bill is 4th, 164 points back.  Despite strong finishes this week, Clay, Cheryl and Lou and running way down in the standings.  Again, we can't thank you enough for sticking wish us.  Next up, another boring track at New Hampshire.

Looks  like our run of fun is over. The collective racing fantasy racing site is down and over for good. Here's a message from the site owner.

I sincerely apologize to all the great people that have continued to play my Fantasy Racing game over the years. I feel horrible that this happened in the middle of a season, but the company hosting my web site did an upgrade on the system which broke my Fantasy Racing. I have tried to fix it, but to no avail. It's been a fun 22 years. You stuck around even though the game is very out-dated. I kept it running as long as I could for you. This is just a hobby for me, and the game was the only part of the site that I managed to keep functional -- until now. Thanks to all the awesome people I have gotten to know over the years -- I hope our paths cross some day! --Jim
