Title: ThorWorks fire
Post by: super61 on January 21, 2009, 09:49:25 PM
late this morning, ThorWorks, the parent company of Truck Series team, ThorSport, #88 Matt Crafton and #13 Johnny Sauter,  caught fire and exploded. Thankfully not one person was injured in the enusing drama.  ThorWorks is the maker of SealMaster products used in asphalt sealing applications

Sounds like the race shop was not affected by the fire and the building that burned was one of the warehouses on the complex. i have not heard anything from anyone at the shop as phones and electicity in the are are out. i will update are more comes in.

Man!  That's very scarry, Ken!  Glad no one was injured and hopefully, they will get things squared away and be able to continue with their primary business.

UPDATE!!! the building was a total loss. the main manufactuing operation was untouched by the fire and debris. the race shop is near the front of the property and remained in operation most of the day. there was a paint booth in the building that burned, where sauter's daytona truck was being painted, but it was removed with nothing more than some smoke damage before all he** broke loose. neighbors nearest to the plant said it felt and sounded like bombs going off when the propane tanks exploded. again, no injuries reported. and there should be no disruptions in the operations of ThorWorks and ThorSport.
