Hi. I'm Sally Baker, and I'm one of those dinosaurs that new fans always complain about. I caught my first glimpse of NASCAR in 20 minute segments on Wide World, and was hooked. I was delighted when ESPN and television in general "discovered" racing, and I could watch most of the races. I listened to the likes of Ned Jarrett and Buddy Baker, learning the sport from some of it's Masters. I live in Michigan, about 60 miles north of Detroit, where the local News/Free Press doesn't even have regular NASCAR coverage except race day mornings. I didn't attend my first live race until 2001 in Martinsville...an amazing experience. No, I haven't gone to races at MIS, having no interest in gas mileage parades. Since Martinsville, Bristol has became a twice yearly road trip for me. Yes, I'm opinionated, and enjoy a lively, intelligent discussion with people who can debate without stooping to personal insults. Everyone has their own opinion. Keeps things interesting. You can contact me at here. |
